The Don Bosco Centers
For 80 years, The Don Bosco Centers has empowered individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency and independence through a comprehensive network of services tailored to the needs of Kansas City’s ethnically rich and culturally diverse community. Designated by Mid-America Regional Council as the largest and most comprehensive facility of its kind in Kansas City, the organization’s Senior Center provides meals, transportation, fellowship and activities for vulnerable seniors and adults with disabilities, many of whom are at risk of institutionalization due to frail health, low-income status, and limited resources. The Don Bosco Centers English as a Second Language School—the largest adult education program in Missouri—provides free or highly-subsidized educational opportunities in workforce development, citizenship test preparation and more to adult immigrants and refugees through a valuable partnership with the Independence School District.
